About the Provider

Dr. Joby James is a Texas native, born and raised in Coppell, TX.   He graduated from Coppell High School and went to Austin College in Sherman, TX.  He went to medical school at Ross University School of Medicine and finished his internship and residency at Oklahoma University School of Community Medicine in Tulsa, Oklahoma. 

Personal Life

Dr. James is happily married and has 2 young children.  He is an avid runner, biker and swimmer (triathlons) and enjoys traveling, social events, and keeping up with movies (when time allows). 

Career

Dr. James was a Internist/Hospitalist with open-ICU privileges in Tulsa from 2015 - 2017.  He later transitioned to outpatient medicine and joined USMD (Now WellMed) in 2017. He served as Associate Medical Director and Lead Provider at the Carrollton Clinic from May 2021 to May 2024.  He later founded and started Aera Clinic in 2025.
